CWO3 WARRANT BOSN spent 28 years both active and reserve and retired January 1st 1998. Started out at NTC Great Lakes March 3rd 1966 and went to Helatron 8 at Ellyson Field Pensacola Florida May 1966-July 1967 in Base Security Police. From their I picked up the USS Canberra CAG2 in San Diego California in July 1967 and pulled a tour in Vietnam onboard her. Left the Canberra in March 1968 and went to the USS NEOSHO AO143 "BEST DAMN OILER IN THE WORLD " at Norfolk Va. I stayed on the Neosho from March 1968-May 1970 going from seaman to BM2 in 1st division.My reserve time I spent In many different locations and many ships and bases.

THIS SITE IS DEDICATED TO BM2 JAMES E. BANE SR & THE MEN & WOMEN WHO SAILED ON THESE SHIPS.
BM2 Jim Bane started a web site in the year 2000 and started bringing the Neosho crew members back together. Also I want to thank Gary Eckstein for the USS NEOSHO T-AO143 ships picture and Steve Digiacomo for the USS NEOSHO AO143 ships history.
